Joss Lambert

Project Officer, Ambitious about Autism

Hi everyone!  I'm Joss and I work for national charity Ambitious about Autism on our Autistic and OK programme for secondary schools. Autistic and OK is a groundbreaking peer-led programme that aims to support autistic pupils with their mental health and educate the wider school community on autism.  Our programme aims to build a whole-school community where autistic pupils feel understood and accepted. I'm excited to connect with members of the SEND Network and hopefully bring the benefits of Autistic and OK to as many UK secondary schools as possible. Please do get in touch via messaging or email if you have any questions or queries, I'd be really happy to answer them!

Tina Coope

Educational Lead, PANS PANDAS UK

Hi, I'm Tina, a former experienced teacher, and I have been working with PANS PANDAS UK, a charity focused on these post infectious neuro-inflammatory conditions for around three years. These conditions can cause children to quickly deteriorate from doing well in school to having complex needs. Awareness about these conditions is currently low, but it is improving thanks to recent advances in the medical field, a Parliamentary debate and media coverage. PANS/ PANDAS can present with some unusual characteristics, and this combined with a lack of awareness and training for schools has made things more difficult. The recent recognition of both PANS/PANDAS as distinct diseases by the NHS, now presents a great opportunity to raise further awareness across education.

Rebecca Clapcott

Founder, Awesome Archie non profit

Awesome Archie officially began during the lockdown of 2020. Like most people, being tasked with staying at home, Awesome Archie struggled… as did many other families with children who have neurological differences. We decided to try and help those families… as well as trying to help ourselves.  We managed to write and publish four books, all explaining about neurodiversity.  We have provided hours of tutoring and online art therapy sessions (free of charge) and have been a source of information for parents and carers either in person or online. Anything we don’t know,, we will help you to find out! Awesome Archie (non-profit organisation) has continued to grow from strength to strength and is now what I (Rebecca Clapcott – Founder of Awesome Archie) do, fulltime. Both Awesome Archie and I also travel to several schools across Dorset and Hampshire to provide free educational workshops and in-school support as often as we can and I am currently (voluntarily) providing several children with regular one-to-one support.
I was a special schools teacher for 28 years then an ICT SEN Advisor for a local education authority before setting up my own Assistive Technology company doing consultancy, assessment and training in the area of Assistive Technology. I am a council member for the British Assistive Technology Association and the producer of "The Power of Assistive Technology film series.  I am a freelancre trainer with Neurobox as well as an international speaker  at events here in the UK at The Dyslexia Show,  BETT Show & BDA groups around the country
