24th May: Research Hub meeting one
Hi all, thanks for your responses to the poll for the first meeting. The most popular date is May 24th.
We will set the meeting up on Zoom and I'll share a link in this area. @Michael O'Dwyer has said that those of you based local to Bromley are welcome to come to his school to attend in person 😊
Please share whether 3.30 or 4pm would be the best start time?
Thanks, Torie 😊
First meeting!
Hi all, it would be brilliant to get this group up and running. Michael has shared some potential dates for an online meet-up to start discussions, with the option of anyone local to Bromley joining him in person at his school. I've put them into a poll (see link below).
Suggested time for the meet-up is 3.30/4pm. Once we have everyone's availability we can arrange a Zoom meeting/confirm those who are able to do it in person.
The poll is here so please fill in your availability.

Hi there, would love to access this but the link is not working. Please could the link be checked. Thanks! :-)
Hi Inge, thanks for getting in touch. Which link is it which isn't working for you?
I am not sure which resources were consulted with respect to the the gendered prevalence of ADHD in particular. ADD is still used colloquially but, it is my understanding, that it is no longer a diagnostic term. What was once ADD is now ADHD primarily inattentive presentation and while it does seem that many girls have this presentation, contributing to so many women being identified late as the challenges are less likely to be externalised, I don’t know that there is necessarily evidence that ADHD (presumably hyperactive and combined presentations) is more common in boys, only that it is more often identified in boys.
Hi Mackenzie, thanks for your comment - that's really helpful feedback. This article is now slightly old, so I will speak with the writer and amend the ADHD/ADD paragraph, thank you for flagging.
Thank you so much for this interesting insight into PANS and PANDAS. Do you think the causes are related to a disorder of the immune system and therefore linked to neurological development? The question now in my mind is whether those who have experienced sudden onset of symptoms post vaccination may also be because they are susceptible in a similar way as those children who have suffered PANS or PANDAS following an infection? Is there any research on this?
@Tina Coope
Wish we could hear the feedback from the audience.
Be good if we could see the presenter
Hi Lesley, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately the recordings were done of slides and presenter voice only which is why you can't see the presenter. Hopefully the information is still helpful.
Kind regards, Torie
Hi there! I can't see the link to this podcast. Is it missing?
Hi Angela, thanks so much for pointing that out! Have added it in now 😊
I wanted to share this article written by Helen Forrester because of the efficacy of yoga in school for children with SEN. As a parent and yoga therapist I have seen the difference a regular yoga class can make firsthand with my son, who has Autism, and who has learned skills through his yoga practice. To find out more about offering Yoga in your Schools please contact Chrissy@yoga-in-schools.co.uk.
Thanks for sharing this insight Chrissy!
