Good to meet you!!
I’ve been in education for 30 years with learners from age 3 to adults. I’ve worked in state schools, in the independent sector, in further education and in business in various locations around the country.
During 10 years as a Specialist Advisory Teacher I supported schools with all aspects of behaviour. In addition to whole-school support, general classroom management, parental engagement and enhancing pupils’ behaviour for learning, I develop interventions for individual pupils with behavioural difficulties. I have a particular interest in neurodiversity, children's emotional wellbeing and inclusion.
My work has had a positive impact on support for children with autism and those who are at risk of exclusion. As a Behaviour Strategist I have a range of skills, comprehensive knowledge and expertise to provide specialist and bespoke support for schools, families, professionals and adults in promoting positive and inclusive behaviour.
I believe with intervention at the earliest possible opportunity we can change patterns of behaviour and break the cycle. The wide range of training packages and workshops I provide for young people, school staff, parents and professionals are interactive and delivered with the audience in mind.
I’m committed to equity, diversity and inclusive practice and to supporting children who are marginalised in any way. I believe in the rights of all children to be represented in education with regard to the regulation of behaviour and to inclusion, diversity and anti-racist practice. I work alongside other children-centred organisations and I’m a volunteer speaker and Community Ambassador for The Children’s Society.
I have always enjoyed working in education, but this is my favourite job by far!!
