Hello
Hello everyone,
I’m Simon Preston, founder and co-director of Neurodiversity in Education CIC, where we’re committed to supporting neurodivergence across all stakeholder groups within the education system; from learners and educators to leadership and policy makers.
My background includes serving as a Head of Faculty in a special education school, which deeply shaped my understanding of the systemic challenges and opportunities within SEND provision. I’m also a parent to two wonderful children, aged 4 and 14, both of whom have EHCPs, so I bring both professional and lived experience to this work.
I’m currently pursuing a Doctorate focused on systemic misalignments between organisational functionality and neurocognitive functionality in secondary school teachers thus causing work-related stress, using the biopsychosocial model as a framework. My work aims to create more inclusive systems that align with neurodivergent strengths and needs.
I’m really looking forward to connecting, learning, and collaborating with others in the network who share a passion for meaningful change in SEND education.
Warm regards,Simon Preston
