Melissa Chesman (She/Her)

Communications Lead, National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF)

About Melissa Chesman

I work for the National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) which is the independent national voice of parent carer forums, as their communications lead. We work with the government, health, education, and other services in the SEND community. I have previously worked in a secondary school as an HLTA and for my LA in SEND services, including their short break scheme, youth services and as their communications lead on their local offer. Most importantly, I have been a SEN parent for 21 years, and what a journey that's been! I'm passionate about advocating for and ensuring SEN parents are listened to, as we are the experts on our own children's special educational needs and disabilities, and we give our children a voice.
