Hello everyone,   I am currently working on a dissertation focused on pre-verbal autism and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or additional information that could support my research. My research seeks to dispel such misconceptions and provide a nuanced understanding of pre-verbal autism. The primary objectives of my research are to investigate why some autistic children become pre-verbal, the psychological and neurological reasons for this phenomenon, and the associated behavioural difficulties. I will also explore the link between certain behavioural traits and pre-verbal autism, and how meltdowns could be a form of frustration due to miscommunication. Additionally, my research will review resources that support communication, such as Makaton, widgets, and other communication tools. The subsequent chapters of my dissertation will delve into each of these aspects in detail, this is a literature review of existing research in the field, involving an examination of the psychological and neurological reasons for pre-verbal autism, and concluding with an exploration of behavioural difficulties and communication support resources.   I would be grateful for any insights, resources, or experiences you could share that might help enrich my understanding and perspective on this topic.
