Research on secondary transition for pupils with SEND and free transition resources
Hello SEND Network,
At the STEPs project, we are a research team from York St John and Lancaster Universities, who are working collaboratively with pupils with SEND to understand and support their transition to mainstream secondary school.
We are looking for parents of children with SEND who are about to start secondary school in the UK to complete a brief survey. You can read full details about the study and access the survey here:

It takes 10-25 minutes to complete - we are looking for parents to share their views up until 6th September. We will then contact respondents once more in early 2025 (after children have been at secondary school for one term) to ask about how transition has gone. Please feel free to share this message with any contacts who may be interested in taking part.
In return, get access to our growing free bank of transition resources, co-produced with a group of neurodivergent young people. We hope that families and teachers will find the toolkit resources helpful to frame conversations about transition with young people with additional learning needs.
If you have any questions, please email the project team at steps@yorksj.ac.uk.
Thank you!
