Steven Godwin

CEO, Enemy of Boredom Academy

About Steven Godwin

I started EOB Academy nearly ten years ago as part of my mission to create inspirational places of learning for students with SEND. My personal experience of neurodiversity taught me that education just isn’t one size fits all. I spent many years working in the print and music industries where I created education projects to help young people kickstart their own careers.

Now training as Headteacher and running Enemy Of Boredom I’m lucky enough to work with hundreds of neurodiverse young people to help them grow in confidence. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing our students gain qualifications and move on to their next destination happy and proud of their achievements.

Enemy of Boredom is the academy of creative excellence for young people who think differently.

Alternative provision of contemporary arts education including video games design, music performance, fashion business start-up and more from a growing number of dedicated centres across the UK and online.

Our aim is to provide inspirational places of learning for neurodiverse students by tapping into their authentic interests. Over time we hope to change the perception of school as a place of confusion and fear for students with SEND into one of acceptance, engagement, learning, happiness and potential. By creating an inclusive learning environment, specifically designed for students with SEND, we rebuild their confidence, working with SENDCOs to create a pathway back into mainstream education or preparing students to graduate and move into work.
