Catherine McLeod OBE, Chief Executive of Dingley's promise will kick off The SEND Stage with this talk on how all educators can build high quality, inclusive practice - the true foundation of inclusion before specialist support is accessed. 

“Mind the Gap”- How High-Quality Environments Can Support Children’s Speech and Language Development

Emma Kemp and Katie Freeland from Childbase Partnership will deliver this presentation on their national trial, in partnership with the University of Northampton, which is looking to determine the impact of environmental factors on children’s speech and language development and close the post-pandemic ‘word gap.’

Connection and Belonging at the Heart of a SEND Pedagogy

Cheryl Bedding, Trainer and Consultant at Aperion Training, will share her lived and working experiences of ensuring connection, belonging and trust are the foundation of our practice and provision to ensure neurodivergent children thrive. 

Moving and Playing: Why Inclusive Physical Activity Opportunities Matter for Young Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

In this session, Katie Michaels, CEO of Moti Me and Janine Coates from the University of Loughborough discuss the importance of movement and play opportunities in the early years, drawing on personal and professional experiences, whilst also taking a look at some of the research evidence.
