David Hearing, Alternative Provision Lead at Chosen Hill School in Gloucestershire, explains how the school uses EDClass to support pupils who may struggle to access mainstream lessons, including students with SEND and EHCPs.
David discusses how flexible online learning can help pupils continue their education from home, on-site or as part of a part-time timetable, while smaller and quieter learning environments can provide a stepping stone back into mainstream lessons.
He also shares why regular communication, safeguarding, qualified teacher support and a strong relationship between the school and provider have been important in helping pupils maintain their learning and make progress.
