The third annual SEND Summit will take place on 4 July at London’s Cavendish Conference Centre.

The event will examine the impact of reforms in the government’s SEND and AP Improvement Plan on the sector while offering examples of innovative and effective practice highlighting key insights in supporting a range of needs.

Chaired by CYP Now editor Derren Hayes, the SEND Summit: Policy Reform & Practice Impact will see keynote speeches delivered by Jane Friswell, director of the SEND Consultancy, on what reforms mean for practitioners and families and Alice Wilcock, head of education at the Centre for Social Justice, on supporting pupils with SEND through alternative provision.

Dr Susan Tranter, panel lead in the review into safeguarding children with disabilities and complex needs in residential settings, will presentthe investigation’s key findings.

Attendees will be offered the opportunity to choose from a range of breakout sessions on topics including understanding and supporting children and young people with ADHD, transforming SEND systems by listening to families and grassroots support for refugee and black and minority ethnic children with SEND.

The event is open to practitioners and leaders across all education and health settings as well as to local authorities and the voluntary and community sector.
