Welcome to Watoto Play, an innovative organisation dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing within the modern family. Our focus is on creating therapeutic educational resources, programs and training that caters especially to neurodivergent families and young people, helping them navigate their unique world and build better bonds with those around them.

Our mission is simple: we aim to help individuals live better lives. We believe that by addressing mental health early and providing the right tools and resources, we can empower children and families to thrive in their relationships and daily lives.

Watoto Play was founded by Yasmin Shaheen-Zaffar. Yasmin is a relational trauma therapist, Safe and Sound practitioner, and a neurofeedback practitioner. She herself is neurodivergent. Her personal experience coupled with her professional expertise enables her to understand the specific challenges neurodivergent individuals face. This understanding is at the heart of each resource we create, ensuring they resonate with the experiences of those we aim to support.

At Watoto Play, we are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who are often misunderstood or overlooked by traditional approaches. Through our resources, we hope to promote understanding, acceptance, and positive change for especially  neurodivergent young people and the modern family.
