A Spotlight on Supported Internships and SEND Employment Pathways
The National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) is set to host the Internships & Work Conference 2026, an online event bringing together education professionals, employers, local authorities and inclusion specialists to explore how employment pathways can be strengthened for young people with SEND.
NDTi has also highlighted the importance of continued investment in supported internships, noting that sustained funding and commitment are essential if more young people with SEND are to access these opportunities. The conference will examine why long-term investment remains a key factor in expanding access and improving employment outcomes.
The online event is expected to be of interest to SEND leaders, post-16 providers, practitioners and those involved in transition planning, particularly those working at the intersection of education, employment and inclusion. The event is due to take place on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.
The SEND Network will continue to share updates and insights related to supported internships, employability and post-16 pathways as part of its ongoing coverage of developments across the sector.
