🗣️A call for community voices - Inclusion Beyond SEND

🗣️A call for community voices Inclusion Beyond SEND is being built around a simple question: How do we build access, confidence and independence into learning from the start? Over the summer, we would love to hear from people across SEND, education, assistive technology and wider inclusion work.

Dark navy conference graphic headed “Inclusion Beyond SEND: Call for Community Voices.” It invites warm reflections and practical insights over the summer, asking for a 300–500 word contribution linked to one of five strands: early help, SEND reform and designed-in access; assistive technology and digital independence; AI, bias and inclusive practice; curriculum, creativity and future-ready learning; and careers, skills and future pathways. It notes that selected voices may be shared weekly and help shape the conference conversation. The event takes place on Thursday 17 September 2026 at the University of Surrey, Guildford. Decorative icons represent inclusion, learning, writing, community, date and location.

Moon Hall School Reigate and University of Surrey Widening Participation, are inviting short 300–500 word reflections linked to one of our five conference strands:

  1. Early help, SEND reform and designed-in access
  2. Assistive technology and digital independence
  3. AI, bias and inclusive practice
  4. Curriculum, creativity and future-ready learning
  5. Careers, skills and future pathways

This does not need to be a formal article. It might be one practical example, one question, one concern, one provocation or one idea that deserves a wider conversation.

Selected contributions may be shared through our Collective Voice Substack and LinkedIn in the weeks leading up to the conference, with contributors contacted before anything is published. Contributors retain copyright.

Please also help us widen the conversation by sharing this call with colleagues, practitioners, researchers, families, students, employers and organisations whose voices should be part of it.

🤲 Read when you have space.
🤲 Contribute when you are ready.
The conversation will still be here in September.
