EHC plans are only as good as the advice that informs them, which means that those contributing statutory advice and assessment reports should avoid some common mistakes to ensure advice is comprehensive, clear and relevant. However, there are also many ways that plan writers themselves can impact on the quality of a plan, regardless of the advice provided. In 28+ years of providing writing support to Local Authority (LA) SEND teams, Enhance EHC has written over 190,000 EHC plans (previously SEN Statements) and trained hundreds of plan writers, which means we’ve seen our fair share of good and bad practice!
